Paldor Peak Climbing

Paldor Peak Climbing

Paldor Peak Climbing

Paldor Peak lies in the range of Ganesh Himal of central Nepal. The Name Ganesh is taken from the best worshiped Hindu god Ganesh who has Elephant headed body. Including Paldor there are few other peaks opened for climbing. Paldor is one of the very early climbed Himalayan Peaks in Nepal. The first team to scale this mountain includes Bill Tilman (pioneer British explorer in the Himalayas), Peter Lioyd, Tenjing Sherpa and Da Namgyal who had received special permission to explore the Himalayas in 1949 while the country was yet to be opened for foreign visitors.
Though Ganesh Himal range is closer to Kathmandu comparing other ranges, it's far less exploited by trekking and climbing groups. Trekking to Ganesh / Paldor starts from Trishuli a small town north of Kathmandu valley. After few days trip the trek touches the unexploited alpine are. Trekking / Climbing in Paldor is more enjoyable for alpine style holidays.
