trekking destination in Nepal where Nepal's most tranquil
and natural beauty is still unexplored.. Dolpo is located
inside the Shy - Phoksundo National Park of mid-western
Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan
Plateau. Trekking in Dolpo region is an experience not
easily forgotten. As it is in the isolated part of Nepal,
there the nature seems to have remained exactly the
same as it was first created- unharmed and unaltered.
Undisturbed and preserved for centuries now. Blue sheep,
leopards and other interesting Himalayan animals are
still there in that region. Dolpo region trekking is
the natural embodiment of high passes, rare flora and
fauna, and sweeping vistas, which is enriched by the
traditional Tibetan cultural heritage. To trek on Dolpo
region is quite an experience of life. The view of Kanjiroba
peak, Phoksumdo Lake, and the Dhauligiri massif is one
of the most rewarding moments of the upper dolpa trekking.
A visit to the Phoksumdo Gompa ¨C dedicated to the
ancient Bonpo religion, local to Dolpo and Tibet, is
a memorable experience in Himalayan kingdom of Nepal.
Upper Dolpo trekking is famous for deepest Lake Phoksundo
in entire Himalayan Region. Mother Nature created a
unique and wonderful treasurer like Dolpo, which is
being the shelter of many rare alpine living beings.
Trek to Dolpo has often been called the Nepal Himalaya

Guru Rinpoche. Upper Dolpo trek is most suitable for
those who are exceptionally fit and prepared to face
the full challenge of the Himalayan wilderness and well-organized
camping trekking , trekking in group is recommended

obtain through Government registered trekking company

The first part of Dolpa trek is not difficult
and provides delightful walking before joining ancient
trade routes and the steep ascent to cross the Kagmara
La 5225m, than entrance to upper Dolpo region. The scenery
begins to change with the hills becoming shades of red,
brown and gray. Eventually you can hear prayer flag
fluttering at the top of the pass, and the view opens
up dramatically looking east towards the snow peaks
of the kanjiroba Himal and the five peaks of Dhaulagiri.
We soon walk through the pleasant green pastures to
the beautiful Phoksundo (Rigmo) lake. The scenery is
outstanding with the deep blue waters of the lake contrasting
with the weathered red and brown hills. We cross over
two high passes, the Bag La 5182m and the Numa La 5148m.
From the Numa La descend into the Tarap valley to the
village of Dho Tarap. Our adventurous journeys finally
